Health Verdict exists because of a simple, frustrating fact: in the health and supplement industry, the marketing budget and the product quality are two unrelated numbers.
The best-advertised products are rarely the best products. The most expensive ones often aren't either. And the information you'd need to tell the difference — actual doses, actual actives, actual absorption — is buried in fine print, hidden in “proprietary blends,” or simply not on the label at all.
So we do the legwork that individual consumers can't:
- We buy at retail. Every product we review is purchased off the shelf or from the brand's own website, with our own money. We don't accept free samples for review — a sample sent by a brand is a sample selected by a brand.
- We test independently. For laboratory analyses, we work with independent, third-party analytical laboratories. No brand sees results before publication.
- We read the actual studies. When a label claims an ingredient is “clinically proven,” we pull the trials and check the doses — because a proven ingredient at a tenth of the studied dose proves nothing.

Health Verdict is reader-supported. When you buy through links on our site, we may earn a commission — this is disclosed at the top of every article where it applies. Commissions never determine rankings: our conclusions are set by the testing and the evidence before any link is added, and we routinely rank products that pay us nothing above products that would.
What we're not
We're not doctors, and this site is not medical advice. We're a consumer-testing publication: we report what's in the bottle, what the research says, and what things cost.
